Of Apes and Men
By Roger Marshall*
I read with great interest Orlando Marville’s article entitled Africa in which he highlighted important facts about the African continent and its people. However, he was grossly mistaken in his take on the out-of-Africa evolutionary theory of human origins.

Smutty Music: Rihanna’s S&M song and music video weighed in the balance and found wanting

The ongoing public outcry at home and abroad against the lewd “entertainment” exploits of pop rock star Rihanna as it relates to her latest music video titled ‘S & M’ (Sadism and Masochism) once again brings into sharp focus the decades-old, ever spiraling downward, immoral nature of much of today’s pop music culture.

many Christians.

Afrocentrism: Freedom from Mental Slavery or Bondage

Between 3.5 million to 250,000 years ago, deep in the humid jungles of south

creatures classified by today’s paleoanthropologists as the Australopithecines
(i.e.” Southern apes”) such as Australopithecus afarensis (a.k.a.
“Lucy”), Australopithecus robustus, Australopithecus africanus etc.

Cruel Options for Afrocentrist Critics of Christianity

questions on the reality of the biblical exodus.

Darwinism the Perfect Rational for Racism
Theology of racism was the title of Mr. Orlando Marville’s
article, which appeared in the October 5, 2003 edition of the Sunday Sun.

racism at the feet of an erroneous “Christian” theology which
permeated vast segments of 19th century European thought.

Pleading The Blood of Jesus: What Does The Bible Say?
By Roger Marshall*
One may wonder why I should question the practice of “pleading the
blood of Jesus” which has been so entrenched in several Evangelical
and Charismatic churches for many years. I question the practice for two
basic reasons. First as a seeker after truth, the Bible commands us to
prove or test all things and hold fast to that which is good (1 Thess.
5:21). The only way we can prove or test our beliefs and experiences is
by scrutinizing them in light of the God’s word the Bible. Isaiah
8:20 says:

the atmosphere, our bodies, hands, and out through ones finger tips and
palms to produce healing and other types of physical and spiritual blessings

The Concept of God: A brief review

This type of belief is common among New Agers and the like, however, the

New way of life was the title of an article that appeared in the September

to the tolerance and freedom that is afforded to people of other faiths
in a Western nation such as Barbados which (despite its many imperfections)
is still largely founded on the Judeo-Christian ethic that protects such
freedoms. In Islamic states such freedoms are not afforded to ex-Muslims
who convert to Christianity.

Is God a figment of man’s imagination?
By Roger Marshall*
Many intellectuals today and their adherents claim that God is only a
figment of man’s imagination. They say that as man evolved from
ape-like ancestors he also evolved his religious beliefs in an attempt
to explain the frightening laws and phenomena of nature around him. In
the words of the late evolutionist Sir Julian Huxley: “In the evolutionary
pattern of thought there is no longer need or room for the supernatural.
The earth was not created, it evolved. So did all the animals and plants
that inhabit it, including our human selves, mind and soul as well as
brain and body. So did religion
